(Erin) Kim Turnbull - "Miss Kim"
B.A. Dal. NeuroPsych., A.C.D.T.A. since 1985 Our Master of Ceremonies, better known in the Dance Community as “Miss Kim’, has been with Limelight Productions since the beginning. She has M.C.’d for dance events throughout the region and has acted as an adjudicator for several Atlantic dance competitions but she says, “Limelight always feels like being home with family”. She has studied and/or taught Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Step Dance, Flamenco, Belly Dance, Character National, African, Social Dance and Country and Western dance forms with some of the most acclaimed teachers of her time. Her training began when she was three years old with Mother Mary Turnbull, leading to her professional qualification through the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association (C.D.T.A.) in 1985 with further qualifications reached in 1991, 1995 and 2012. Throughout the decades, she has also completed numerous student and teaching level exams in the Russian and N.A.T.D. syllabi. She has held the position of Artistic Director of several multidisciplinary schools throughout her career, has been on the faculty of an dhas guest taught at dozens of competitive schools coast to coast. ‘Miss Kim’ opened her first studio in Head of St. Margaret’s Bay in September 2001 then went on to open two more studios on the South Shore, in Chester and Bridgewater as well as one in Fall River. To this day these areas continue to thrive as vital dance centres under the direction of our next generation of teachers. Drawing from her performance background in live theatre, television and film, Miss Kim has choreographed and guest performed locally with several Maritime theatre companies including Chester Playhouse and Neptune Theatre. Other credits to her name include having been acknowledged for her contribution to “The Tap Dance Dictionary”, published by MacFarland & Company, acting as Competition Coordinator for the first two C.D.T.A. Atlantic Ballet Festivals, having been a director on the Board of Dance Nova Scotia from 1996-2003 and the Atlantic Vice President of the C.D.T.A., but her most proud accomplishment she says, are her beautiful dancing daughters. |

Stephen Findlay
He began his career with the Alberta Ballet then later with Ballet North where he spent four seasons as a soloist. Selected theatre credits include Jimmy in Stealing Sam, Konrad in Dead & Breakfast, Charlie Butler in the play Lunenburg, all for the Lunenburg Theatre Collective, the Priest in Mama Mia and Lank in Crazy For You, for the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope. Mr. Braithwaite in Billy Elliott for the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. Jeff Moss in Bells Are Ringing, for the Confidential Musical Theatre Project. Mary Poppins, for the Citadel, Theatre Calgary, and The Capitol Theatre in Port Hope. Mirvish Production’s The Sound of Music where he also acted as Resident Dance Captain. Oliver for Drayton Entertainment, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, three seasons with the Charlottetown Festival where he played in Anne of Green Gables, Guys and Dolls and Puttin on the Ritz, Peter Pan and Robin hood the Pantomimes at the Elgin Theatre, Forty Second Street and Crazy For You at Huron County Playhouse, SwingStep an original Canadian Musical and numerous others. Movie and Television credits include Moonshine, Queer As Folk, The Gemini Awards, Stormy Weather, SuperStar, Once Upon A Mattress, HairSpray, Mulroney The Opera, as well as numerous television commercials. He has had the good fortune to work with great artists such as Donny Osmond, Shania Twain, Ernie Coombs, (Mr. Dressup), Rex Harrington, Traci Ullman, Louise Pitre, Carol Burnett, Mathew Morrisson, Denis O’Hare, Tony nominated choreographer Arlene Phillips and Tony Award winning choreographer Kathleen Marshall. Past choreography credits include The CBC series Moonshine, Guys and Dolls, Fiddler on the Roof, and Shout the Mod Musical, all for The Capitol Theatre in Port Hope, Once Upon A Mattress, West Side Story, and Gypsy, all for Sheridan College, and the Mary Kay Awards. For C.A.T.S. Mainstage, director/choreographer for Fiddler on the Roof. Also a sought after teacher and adjudicator, he has adjudicated competitions across the country for over twenty five years and has taught and guest taught for various centres throughout Canada including Premiere Dance Academy Calgary, Dance Fuzion, The Edmonton School of Ballet, The Alberta Ballet School, The Young Canadians, The Charlottetown Festival Young Company, Harbour Dance, George Brown College, Sheridan College, Metro Movement and Dubo Force, (Monterrey Mexico and Mexico City). He is a Level E graduate from The Second City, and was also a member of the casting team for Mirvish Production’s The Wizard of Oz. |
Cathryn Croft
Cathryn Croft, born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, has made Montreal her home for almost three decades. With over 30 years of experience in teaching dance, she has become a formidable presence in the industry. Cathryn's journey as a dance enthusiast began at a young age, and ever since, her passion and dedication to the art form have continued to grow. For more than 25 years, Cathryn has been actively involved in judging dance competitions and festivals, lending her expertise to identify and nurture exceptional talent. Her unique perspective as an artistic coach for Cirque du Soleil has allowed her to explore the intersection of dance and circus arts, fostering creativity and pushing boundaries. In addition to her dance pursuits, Cathryn is also a registered massage therapist, utilizing her deep understanding of the body and movement to enhance her students' physical well-being. Whether in the studio, at competitions, festivals or in therapeutic sessions, Cathryn's infectious enthusiasm and wealth of knowledge continue to inspire dancers of all ages and levels. |
