Spectator Information
Moncton #1 • April 18-21, 2024 - Riverview Arts Centre
Limelight Dance Competition is excited to bring dancers, studio directors, teachers and parent a dance competition experience like no other. We want a dancers to enjoy their experience at Limelight and we promise to make them our main priority. Our success will ultimately derive from watching them perform and succeed and a fun and safe environment.

Venue & Parking
This event will be held at the Riverview Arts Centre inside of Riverview High School, 400 Whitepine Road, Riverview, NB. Free parking available. First come, first served.
Facility
The facility doors will open as follows: Thursday at 4:00pm, Friday at 4:00pm, Saturday & Sunday at 7:00am. This event is at a school that dismisses at 3:30pm. We ask that you don't arrive any earlier as there will not be parking or staff onsite to let you in or provide registration. Theatre doors open approximately 10 minutes before show time and/or when all technical checks are complete.
Dancer Registration
Upon arrival, dancers will register at the Dancer Registration Table. There will be signs directing you where to go. Dancers will be stamped, giving them entry to dressing rooms, backstage and the theatre at no cost.
Chaperones
For the safety of the dancers, only chaperones with passes will have access to the dressing room and backstage areas. Chaperones are asked to check in at the Chaperone Registration Table upon arrival. Chaperones were determined by your Studio Director at the time of registration. Chaperones are required to pay the spectator fee (day pass or event bracelet) and tickets for The Vault Dance Off.
Livestream
We were the first competition in the Maritimes to offer this service and we are thrilled once again to be livestreaming all of our 2024 events. Livestreaming allows family and friends to support their loved ones from home, the office, or even from another country. The link is http://dancelive.ca. This service is provided free of charge and is available on any smart phone, tablet or computer with adequate RAM and internet access.
Dancer Viewing
If seating is at capacity, dancers may be asked to give up their seats to parents/spectators who have paid to watch the competition. As stated above, we will be livestreaming the competition and adjudications. Dancers can watch from their dressing rooms with their smartphone, laptop or tablet.
Adjudications
Adjudications will be live and in-person and will take place approximately every 1-3 hours. Our adjudications will be livestreamed.
The Vault Dance Off
We have two incredible dances offs for you! The Vault Dance Off for Novice and Pre-Competitive dancers is scheduled for Saturday, April 20 at 8:30pm and will run for approximately 1 hour. The Vault Dance Off for Competitive dancers is scheduled for Sunday, April 21st at 8:00pm and will run for approximately 1.5 hours. The Vault Dance Off entries are judges’ choice and are announced at each adjudication (if there are entries). There will be a large poster in the lobby listing all the entries.

On Stage Pictures
Jaclyn Doyle Photography & Design will be onsite taking pictures of routines onstage, which will be available for purchase online after the event at www.limelight-photos.com.
Online Video Service
Following the competition, McKiel Video, our videographers, will send each Studio Director a link to view your routines online. They can then share this link with their dancers/parents so you can watch and share your routines online. This service is provided free of charge.
Merchandise
A variety of Limelight merchandise will be available for purchase during the event while quantities last. We accept cash and credit.

EXCLUSIVE GOLD: 95.0+
GOLD: 90.0 - 94.9 HIGH SILVER: 85.0 - 89.9 SILVER: 80.0 - 84.9 BRONZE: 70.0 - 79.9 |
• All dancers receive a medal
• High mark awards in each category will also be awarded • The judges’ average mark will be used • If there is a tie, two awards will be given • Judges will present special awards in each category • The awards given will be based on the mark obtained (i.e. if the highest mark is a Silver, the Silver will be the highest mark given) • Dances selected for The Vault Dance Off will be announced at each adjudication or before the end of each day • Dances selected for The Vault Dance Off are based on judges’ choice • The Highest Mark Love.Laugh.Choreograph and Highest Mark Adult / Pro-Am / Pre- Professional / Professional routine will be invited to perform in The Vault Dance Off, however, is not eligible to win The Vault Dance Off • The judges’ decisions are final and non-negotiable. |
Classifications
Novice: A dancer who is a first-time competitor and/or a dancer who trains less than two (2) hours per week.
Pre-Competitive: A dancer who trains less than six (6) hours per week.
Competitive: A dancer who trains six (6) hours or more per week.
Pre-Competitive: A dancer who trains less than six (6) hours per week.
Competitive: A dancer who trains six (6) hours or more per week.
