Welcome to competition weekend! We are beyond proud of the dedication these dancers have shown in the studio, and we can’t wait to watch them light up the Limelight stage. Let’s cheer loud, support each other, and make some amazing memories together.

NEW! Admission
Admission to the regular competition is free.
Event Program
A digital copy of the event program will be available at least 3 days prior to the event date. Limited printed event programs will be available at the Merchandise Table for $25.00. Accepted payment methods include cash, debit, and credit.
The Vault Dance Off Tickets
Tickets to The Vault Dance Off on Saturday and Sunday can be purchased at the Riverview Arts Centre Box Office for $12.00 plus tax. Teachers may watch The Vault Dance Off for free. Dancers performing in The Vault Dance Off will be permitted to view The Vault Dance Off free of charge if space allows. Spectators who have purchased tickets will have priority seating.
Venue
Our event is being held at the Riverview Arts Centre inside of Riverview High School at 400 Whitepine Road, Riverview. School dismisses at 3:45pm. We ask that you DO NOT arrive any earlier than the below listed times as there will not be parking nor will dressing rooms be available. Venue doors will open as follows:
Thursday at 4:00pm
Friday at 4:00pm
Saturday at 7:30am
Sunday at 7:30am
Parking
Ample free and paid parking is available on a first come, first served basis.
Theatre Doors
Theatre doors will open approximately 10 minutes before show time and/or when all technical checks are complete.
Dancer Registration
Upon arrival, dancers will register at the Dancer Registration Table. Dancers will be stamped, giving them entry to dressing rooms, backstage and the theatre.
Chaperones
For the safety of the dancers, only chaperones with passes will have access to the dressing room and backstage areas. Chaperones are asked to check in at the Dancer Registration Table upon arrival. Chaperones were determined by your Studio Director at the time of registration.
Livestream
We were the first competition in the Maritimes to offer this service, and we are thrilled once again to be livestreaming all our 2026 events. Livestreaming allows family and friends to support their loved ones from home, the office, or even from another country. The link is http://dancelive.ca.
Dancer Viewing
If seating is at capacity, dancers may be asked to give up their seats to parents/spectators and watch the livestream from their dressing room areas.
Adjudications
Adjudications will take place approximately every 1-3 hours. Approximate adjudication times are noted in the event program.
The Vault Dance Off
We have two incredible dances offs for you:
The Vault Dance Off for Novice and Pre-Competitive Dancers
Sunday, April 12th at 4:00pm
The Vault Dance Off for Competitive Dancers
Sunday, April 12th at 6:30pm
Each dance off will run for approximately two (2) hours. The Vault Dance Off entries are judges’ choice and are announced at each adjudication (if there are entries). There will be a large poster in the lobby listing the entries.
NEW! Pictures
Photography during the competition is strictly prohibited. Jaclyn Doyle Photography will be onsite taking professional, complimentary photos of each routine. A link to download your photos will be emailed to your Studio Director the week following the event.
Videos
Videography during the competition is strictly prohibited. McKiel Video will be onsite taking professional, complimentary videos of each routine. A link to download your videos, with and without adjudications, will be emailed to your Studio Director the week following the event.
Merchandise
A variety of Limelight merchandise will be available at the Merchandise Table while quantities last. Accepted payment methods include cash, debit, and credit.

- Food and beverages are not permitted in the theatre.
- All cell phones must be placed on silent.
- Audience members are to only enter/leave the theatre between routines. All audience members should be seated before the next number begins.
- Talking during routines is prohibited.
- Dancers and studios are to keep their dressing rooms tidy.
- Photography and videography of performances is prohibited in the venue.
- All judging results are final and non-negotiable.
- Harassment and unruly behaviour will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification and eviction off the competition premises.
- Parents are not permitted in the dressing rooms or backstage area during the competition unless registered as a Chaperone via the Studio Director.

Awards & Recognition

All routines will be adjudicated using the same marking system.
All dancers receive a medal for each routine. Top three (3) placements will be awarded in all categories with three or more routines. Solo categories with ten (10) or more routines will have the top five (5) placements announced. High mark awards in each level and style will be awarded. The judges’ average mark will be used. If there is a tie, two awards will be given. Judges will present special awards in each session at their discretion. Dances selected for The Vault Dance Off will be announced at each adjudication or before the end of each day. Dances selected for The Vault Dance Off are based on judges’ choice. The Highest Mark Adult / Pro-Am / Pre-Professional / Professional routine will be invited to perform in The Vault Dance Off, however, not eligible for awards in The Vault Dance Off. The judges’ decisions are final and non-negotiable. |
Levels
NOVICE
a dancer who is a first-time competitor and/or a dancer who trains two (2) hours per week or less.
PRE-COMPETITIVE
a dancer who trains more than two (2) hours per week but less than six (6) hours per week.
COMPETITIVE
a dancer who trains six (6) hours or more per week.
75% or more of the dancers in a group routine must be Novice in order for the routines to be considered Novice. 100% of the dancers in a Duo/Trio must be Novice for the routine to be considered Novice.
50% of more of the dancers in a routine must be Pre-Competitive in order for the routine to be considered Pre-Competitive. 100% of the dancers in the Duo/Trio must be Pre-Competitive for the routine to be considered Pre-Competitive.
If a dancer is competing a solo in any style for the first time, they are considered a Novice soloist.
